Ripped (Real #5) by Katy Evans

Ripped is a great read to me. It's an amazing love story and seems very real. It's about first love, first heartbreak and second chances. Someone's first love always screws a person up. No person is ever the same after they experienced their first heartbreak. It changes people. Pandora had her first heartbreak when she was a teenager and it screwed her up bad. In the first couple of books in the series, Pandora was always bitter and mean. After reading Ripped and getting into Pandora's head, I see why she was so bitter. She was just hurting and taking it out on everyone else around her. Ripped is told in both Kenna's and Pandora's POV.

Pandora wants what her friends have. She wants love, the all consuming type but she also hates love because of her past. She also seems to hate men in general. Her first boyfriend, Kenna which was also her first love, said he loved her and then left her. He lied to her and it ended up hurting her. She never got over it. Years later and his name still gives her butterflies. She hates him or tries to but can't. She wants him too bad. He proved her right about every guy in the world. She's scared to trust him again too.

Kenna wants Pandora. He's always wanted her. He left her to protect her and always was gonna go back for her when he proved her mom that he was good enough for her. Kenna didn't want to leave Pandora like she thought he did. Her mom was holding something huge over his head and he left to keep her safe and save his father. I loved that after so many years apart and Kenna still wants Pandora more than he wants to breathe. Kenna and Pandora have the all consuming love and Pandora never even knew it.

I loved that Pandora couldn't say "I Love You". Normally, it's the guys that have a hard time with saying it but in this case it was her. I think she was afraid she would lose herself if she said it. It was like giving herself full to another person and trusting them to care about her and not hurt her. She had only ever said "I love you" to her dad and he ended up betraying her, so she was scared.

I was glad Pandora found happiness. She was also so sad and hurt and at the end was happy. She was smiling and laughing which is so unlike her. She changed and I loved it. She learned to trust Kenna again which is hard to do when the trust has been broken. She forgave her and got her happy ending.
Ripped kind of ended with a cliffhanger of a sorts. Their story is far from being over. I want to know what happens next and if they find their baby.

Rogue (Real #4) by Katy Evans

I loved Rogue. I love the whole Real Series. I so excited for Rogue and I could hardly wait for it to come out. Melanie and Greyson have to be one of my favorite couples ever. I liked that past people from other books made an appearance in this book. I was thinking Melanie was going to get with Riley since they had a thing in the first couple of books. I was surprise that they didn't and I was glad they didn't. I love Greyson too much.

Greyson is an heir to the underground empire. His father controls all the tickets, gambling and money that goes into the underground fighting circuit. It's a title he doesn't want. All he really wants is his mother but his dad took her away when he was 13 and her location was kept a secret from Greyson. His father is dying from cancer and makes a deal with him. Collect all the 48 debts that owe the underground and he will get his mother's location. Greyson is good at his job. So good that his alias name is Zero. Cause there is zero trace of him ever. He gets in, does the job and gets out. 

Greyson decides to take the deal for his mother location. He follows, traces and stalks the people on the list his father gave him. Melanie is one of those people. He wants her the moment he sees her. She is different than anyone he has ever met. Greyson is trained to fight, lie and kill. He does whatever it takes to make sure the job gets done until Melanie.

Melanie lives a carefree life with a smile on her face. But underneath the clothes and smile, she is miserable. Her twin sister died so she could live and she feels she is living for 2 people now. She goes through guys like a normal person goes through food. She pretends to be happy so everyone will think she is. Greyson walks into her life on a raining night and changes all that. He sees her for who she really is. She falls for him quick even though he tells her he's the bad guy.

Greyson is secretive. He never talks to Melanie about his family, job or anything personal. He comes and goes a lot. Melanie sometimes feels like she wants him more than he wants her and at anytime he's going to live and not come back. She thinks he has a secret life which he does. Greyson works through the list, even skipping Melanie's name just to give her more time. He is afraid that if anyone in the underground world finds out about her, they will use her against him. He doesn't want the same thing to happen to her that happen to his mom.

A lot more stuff happen to make the book a great story. There is a great plot and characters. There were a few things that bothered me that had to be an oversight on the author's part. The night Melanie met Greyson, she clearly states she wishes she had worn a bra and then a chapter later and on the same night when Greyson is undressing her, it states he took her bra off. I find that highly unlikely and impossible to do if she wasn't wearing one. Somewhere early in the book she states to her parents that she will be 25 in 3 weeks. Then when Greyson crashes her Sunday brunch with her parents a little later in the book, she says she will be 25 in a little over a month. I feel like the author couldn't remember small details about the characters and instead of looking back in previous chapters, she just made new stuff up.

Remy by Katy Evans

There really isn't much to talk about with this book. It is almost exactly the same as the previous 2 books, it is just a different character's point of view of what happen.

I did however, really like this book. This book is Real and Mine together in Remy's point of view. It goes back and forth between the present and past. When I was reading Real and Mine, I kept wondering what Remy was thinking and wondering how he was feeling. It was nice to finally find that out. I got to understand him a little more and it made me fall in love with him more. I thought he was a little mysterious in Real and Mine but this book made him just sexy.

This book can be read as a stand alone. It has all the same stuff as Real and Mine, it is just from a different point of view. I think I liked this book more than the books from Brooke's point of view. The only thing different was the present parts where Remy is talking about his wedding day/night.

Mine by Katy Evans

Mine is a sequel to Real. It takes places 2 months after Real ended. I liked this book. It continued Brooke and Remy's love story. I was very excited for this book. I waited for what seemed like forever to get my greedy little hands on it but it was sort of a let down. I was expecting so much more from this book and it was just okay. It still had the sex, romance and drama but I was waiting for some big thing or twist to happen and it never did.

Remy is super sexy. The way the author describes him, I can almost picture him. He is yummy. I love how he loves Brooke so fierce. I liked how he is protective and licks her. The licking thing he did to Brooke, I thought was sweet. He is definitely an Alpha male. If I ever meet anyone like Remy, I would be scared, speechless and probably a little intimidated.

Brooke annoyed me in this book. She whines way too much for an adult. I didn't realized how much she whined and complained about things. She is too much inside her head. She over thinks everything. She lets her insecurities get in the way. I can understand why she is insecure, her man is a god and every woman wanted him. However, Remy wanted her and told her that constantly, but for some reason she still had doubts. 

Mine picks up 2 months after Real and its almost time for the Underground fighting season to start. Remy is still madly in love with Brooke. He needs her like he needs air to breathe. Brooke finds out Remy had other girls when the were broken up in Real and is devastated. She has a hard time getting over it although they were broken up and Remy could do whatever he wanted. Brooke gets bitten by some Scorpions that were a present from Scorpion, Remy's enemy. Brooke also finds out she is pregnant but she almost miscarries. Remy wants to keep Brooke and the baby safe and makes her go home to get rest until after the first trimester. Brooke worries and misses Remy. Remy misses Brooke. Brooke deals with her family disapproving of her being pregnant. Her sister is dumb and goes back to Scorpion because she is getting blackmailed by him. Remy fights his mood disorder. There is some other not important stuff that happens. At the end, Brooke and Remy get married and they have their baby.

I liked Remy. I think he is a beast. He's the only reason why I read this book. I loved him in Real and this book. He is also the only reason I was so excited for this book. Other than him, this book is okay. I was annoyed with Brooke, the repeat of words, the over professing of love and the whining. The author uses the same words over and over again hundreds of times in the book. Brooke wanted Remy. She needed Remy. He was hers over and over. I could skip a paragraph and I would pick up exactly on the same thing I was trying to skip.

I am reading Mine by Katy Evans. I am so excited for this book. It feels like I waited forever for to read it.
