Unveiled (One Night #3) by Jodi Ellen Malpas

I loved Unveiled. It was better than I was expecting it to be. I especially loved the end. I like how Jodi Ellen Malpas writes the epilogue in the male's POV. It adds something to the book when she does that. This epilogue in particular was amazing. I always love getting into the male's head a little and the ending help me understand Miller a little better. I love Miller's crazy obsessive ways and I love reading from his POV.

I loved that Miller and Olivia got their happy ending with a baby and a marriage. I knew they were cause it is a love story but reading how they came about was wonderful. I  am always happy when I read the end and the characters are married with kids, it makes everything they went through worth it to me.

I didn't see William being Olivia's dad. I figured he was someone that cared about her deeply but not her dad. And I could tell that Olivia and William wasn't expecting it either. I knew Olivia's mom was gonna make an appearance. I didn't think she was dead. Normally, when characters talk about someone as much as these characters did about Olivia's mom in the book that she wasn't dead and would be popping up soon. I figured Olivia was gonna get pregnant too. All the lead female characters always end up pregnant.

I loved that Miller explained his obsessive ways a little better. I liked how Olivia tried to help him with them too. He did get better with the obsessiveness a lot. In book one, I thought his crazy ways was crazy and annoying but in this last book, I ended up loving them. It made Miller who he was and he was pretty damn prefect to me. He still isn't Jesse from This Man series, but he's a close second.

I can't wait to read what Jodi Ellen Malpas has in store next. She is a great author to me and I look forward to her next book.

Denied (One Night #2) by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Denied was a good second book in the series. I didn't really see a point in the book besides the fact I got to read about Miller and Olivia. Nothing big happen, there wasn't a big climax or anything. Most of the book, Miller chases Olivia around trying to get her to forgive him, they have a couple of chapters of happiness and then Miller pushes Olivia away. The book goes downhill from the there. Not in a bad way but just a lot starts to happen at the end and it was hard to keep up with everything happening.

Miller was still uptight as ever but we got to see glimpses of his fun side. He does have a sense of humor (who knew) under all the perfect control freak ways. He also has a crazy bad temper. I was shocked when he would go off. He would get so mad and would start yelling and fighting people. The little details about his life was also a little shocking.

I'm glad Olivia made Miller work to get her back. Normally, in books when the couple breaks up the man apologizes and all is forgiven. The couple goes back to being in love but that wasn't the case here. Even though Olivia was misery and wanted to jump right back into bed with Miller, she fought him, ran from him and made him chase her before she finally got back into bed with him again.

The whole thing with Olivia's mom kind of foreshadowed what was going to happen. Everyone kept talking about her, so I knew eventually she was gonna pop up. I wasn't that surprised when she did. William looking after Olivia annoyed me. He just couldn't leave her alone and I didn't understand it. He wasn't her dad, she didn't have to listen to him. To me, it seemed like William felt responsible for Olivia because he was in love with her mom and couldn't save her. I hated the cliffhanger at the end. I hate cliffhangers in general. I don't see a point in them. At least I won't have to wait long to read the next book. February is only a couple of months away and it will go by fast.

Denied (One Night #2) by Jodi Ellen Malpas

Yesterday Jodi Ellen Malpas posted a teaser for her new book Denied which is to be released later this year.

It was a very interesting teaser and makes me want the book now. I love everything Jodi Ellen Malpas writes. The first book in the series Promised wasn't really up to my standards. I liked it but I didn't love it like I did the This Man Series. No book is ever going to compare to that series in my opinion but Denied did look like the series is going to get better as the books come out.

Promised (One Night #1) by Jodi Ellen Malpas

I absolutely love Jodi Ellen Malpas and This Man Series. I love her writing style, the story she comes up with and the characters. I had real high hopes for the One Night series. Jodi Ellen Malpas wrote an amazing series with This Man and I fell head over heels in love with Jesse. I was wondering if she was gonna top the This Man series or if she would be able to write another series just as great as This Man. I can honestly say I don't know.

Promised is very different than This Man. I can't say I love it but I can't say I hate it. It's different. I keep thinking I need the next book in the series to give an honesty opinion on the book. It feel like nothing big really happen in the book. There was great character development with back stories and everything. But I didn't get a feel for the characters as a couple.

Miller is difficult and different. He's mysterious and closed off. He has secrets that I couldn't figure out. He is hard to read. He is however, sexy, super sexy, well dressed, well mannered sometimes, and likes the finer things in life. He is a clean freak and has OCD that fits him in a way.

Livy is young and sheltered so to speak. She doesn't go out or live her life because of her past. She is afraid of becoming her mother and I think every woman is afraid of becoming her mother. I didn't really care too much about her past. Her mother being a hooker seemed like a way to get the reader to love her and it instead annoyed me.

Livy's grandmother and friends annoyed me. Her grandma was trying to set her up and find her a man. I felt like if Livy wanted a man, she would have had one. She didn't need her nosy grandma in her life. Her friends wanted her to have a life and a guy but then when she found Miller, they didn't approve of him. I didn't like her friends at all. Someone like Livy should have different, better friends. Her best friend Gregory reminded me a lot of Tom in This Man series. I thought Tom was super annoying and jealous of Ava and I felt Gregory was the same with Livy.

I did love Miller's little issues. I loved how he was a clean freak. I'm a clean freak and I related to him on that level. Although, I didn't understand why he was a clean freak. People just don't wake up one day and decided to be clean freaks. A little back story on that would have been nice and was needed. I love his thing. He doesn't do romance or cuddles but he loved cuddling with Livy and having himself wrapped around her. It was cute. His OCD with placement of things was weird but made Miller sort of hot and seem out of reach.

I have to read the next book in the series to see where the characters and story goes. Promised ended in a weird cliffhanger and I'm interested in where things are headed.

Nothing New...

I haven't really read anything new in the last couple of weeks. Nothing has spark an interest for me. I did however read This Man Series again which I still love and can't get enough of. Everytime I read it, it feels like its the first time and I can't put the book down. I know what's going to happen and I could probably recite the whole series without the book but I still love reading it. I really hope Jodi Ellen Malpas writes more books. I love her writing style and the characters she writes about.

I did however have a few questions about some of the things that happen in the books. Every time I read the series the same questions always nag me and I can't for the life of me figure them out.

This Man Confessed by Jodi Ellen Malpas

I was thrilled when This Man Confessed finally came out. I had waited what seemed like forever to get my hands on it. It wasn't my favorite like the first two in the series but it brought closure to characters and answered a lot of questions that where previously left unanswered. Ava and Jesse got their happy ending. The characters are still crazy and hilarious. There was still banter between Ava and Jesse that I love so very much. Jesse still adores Ava and wants her like she is his last breath of air. Ava finally gets her independence she tried to get throughout the whole series. She also learn to accept Jesse the way he is and doesn't challenge him as much as she previous did.

This book was a beautiful ending to great love story. I was also so sad to see the series end. I was so caught up in the characters and story that I was completely devastated when the book was over. I was trying to pace my self with only reading a couple of chapters a night so the book would last me a week or longer but I couldn't put it down and was finished within days. I am still having Jesse withdrawals. This book was strangely addicting to me. It was heartbreaking and full of love. It went beyond the love story of Jesse and Ava and got into the very soul of Jesse. I think the first 2 books, This Man and Beneath This Man was the story of how they met and fell in love and this book was a look into what makes Jesse so unreasonable crazy when it comes to Ava. It was sort of his story more than a continuation of their story.

In this book Jesse and Ava get married. It's a month after Beneath This Man ended. Jesse tramples Ava's mom every chance he gets. I secretly think he gets a kick out of trampling people. Ava ends up pregnant and doesn't tell Jesse. She leaves Jesse because he purposely wanted her pregnant and was hiding her birth control pills. She feels betrayed that they didn't talk about it and he made the decision for her. She lies to Jesse about being pregnant. She thinks about aborting the baby and not telling Jesse. Ava gets back with Jesse but still doesn't tell him about the baby. Sarah who hates Ava in the previous 2 books confides in Ava and Ava forgives her. Her talk with Sarah makes her realize she needs to tell Jesse about the baby. He becomes super crazy once she does tells him she's pregnant. Ava gets ran off the road by some crazy person that wants her gone. They learn they're having twins in which Jesse tells Ava he was a twin. They go on they're honeymoon. More of Jesse's past is brought to light and we were introduced to Jesse's parents, who he wants nothing to do with.

There is tons of sex but it doesn't really go into detail like the first 2 books. Ava still is challenging and Jesse is still unreasonable. Ava's brother figures out what Jesse really does. He also asks Jesse for money. Ava quits her job and learns how rich they really are. Ava gets threading letters and dead flowers from some crazy person that wants her to end things with Jesse. Jesse's ex-wife from when he was a teenager(shocker) comes out as the person that drugged Ava in Beneath This Man and tried to run her off the road earlier in the book. She tries to hurt Ava but ends up hurting Jesse. Jesse goes into a coma. When he comes out he starts to mend his relationship with his parents. He decides to sell the Manor. They have a second wedding like the way they should of had it the first time. The end jumps ahead 5 years and it's the twins 5 birthday party. It's also from Jesse P.O.V which was refreshing. It was nice to hear from his thoughts and to read what really goes on in that head of his.

I enjoyed this author very much. I liked her character development and the british words she used. I looked forward to more books from her.

Beneath This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas

This author really knows how to write. This book was funny, sweet and romantic just like the first book in the series. It was a captivating and beautiful love story of two people trying to find their way back to each other after some truths were revealed and nearly destroyed their relationship. I was so transfixed into Jesse and Ava's world that I felt a little lost when the book was over. Jesse and Ava's relationship is beyond intense in this book. Jesse is too much alpha male and I fell more head over heels in love with him in the book. Ava is still all over the place and is constantly keeping Jesse on his toes with her challenging ways. Ava is strong and tries to be independent and doesn't like when Jesse tries to manage her life. Jesse is still crazy in love or just maybe crazy but we do get to see his easy going self a little in this

This book has all the Jesse's style fucks, his trampling ways and devotion to Ava. There is still bantering, tons of wild sex, arguing and Ava not listening to Jesse. Their relationship really evolves in this book. I love how the author wrote Ava and Jesse's characters. I can feel the love they have for each other. Jesse adores Ava to the extent that he drives himself crazy sometimes. He would do anything and everything for her. He was her happy and his always. He wants to spends all the time with her and doesn't want to share her with anyone else. What girl doesn't want to be loved like that?

This Man ended with Jesse and Ava both heartbroken and the relationship over. Beneath This Man picks up five days after Ava walked out on Jesse. She has a miserable week and just wants to go home to sleep. She hasn't heard nor seen Jesse since she left him drunk at his penthouse. Jesse's friends haven't heard or seen him either and they're worried about him. They convince Ava to accompany them to check on Jesse since they can't get pass security. When they get there, Jesse has drank himself to almost a coma. His friends help Ava clean up and Ava decides to stay to watch over Jesse. Jesse wakes up with a horrible hangover and has to deal with some stuff at the Manor but wants Ava to stay so they can talk. His way of talking involves sex. It's the only way he can show Ava how he truly feels about her. They make up, of course and start on the road to mend their relationship.

Ava want Jesse to ease up some with his controlling behavior and open up a little more. Jesse wants to keep Ava save at all cost. Ava still has to deal with all the women that want Jesse which pisses her off sometimes. Jesse also has been hiding Ava's birth control pills and Ava schemes to get Jesse to fess up about it which he doesn't. Some of Jesse's past is revealed. Ava and Jesse deal with Jesse's drinking. He tells her he will never drink again as long as he has her. But then someone drugs Ava and it sends Jesse over the edge. He does keep his promise about not drinking but he finds others ways to deal with him almost losing her. He gets Sarah, the girl Ava can not stand and most definitely wants to take Jesse from Ava to whip him. Yup whip. To get Jesse back and show him how much it hurts her, Ava gets some random guy to whip her. Jesse meets Ava's family. Jesse is still super over protective over Ava but he is so afraid of losing her, it scares him. Jesse also asks Ava to marry him twice which she says yes twice. I guess one proposal wasn't enough for them. This book ends on a happy note but does leave it opening for book 3.

There was also a reoccurring question Ava constantly asked Jesse in This Man and she continues to ask him in this book too. She just wants to know how old he is but he always lies to her. She figures out a way to get him to talk (the truth fuck) and it works for her but has no so great repercussions. I was sad when she finally gets his real age out of him. I liked when she was constantly asking him how old he was. That along with other things that happen gave the book a little something other books don't have. This book just doesn't compare to other books I have read. Questions from book 1 are answered but more questions are asked that are left unanswered.

I especially like the bickering between Ava and Jesse. However, I would have never let Jesse pull me out of bed at 6 in the morning to go run 14 miles. No way.

This Man by Jodi Ellen Malpas

I absolutely loved this book. I really wasn't that interested in reading but I couldn't find anything else so I gave it a try and I am so glad I did. It has a hot, sexy, older, super rich man; Jesse, a young woman that is not sure of herself when it come to guys; Ava, loads and loads of sex, drama, arguing, drinking, and funny moments. I loved how the author wrote the book and made it have the love story feel and be funny at the same time. The books moves fast, it's a matter of weeks when Ava is already in love with Jesse but it didn't seem rushed. It fit the story. The book ends in a cliffhanger which totally pissed me off and excited me at the same time. It meant there was gonna be a book 2.
  
Jesse Ward has a take control attitude but isn't really controlling to me. He just really cares about Ava and doesn't want anything to happen to her.  Right from the beginning of the book you can feel the chemistry between Ava and Jesse. He wants her and will do anything to get her. He pulls out all the stops and goes a little crazy trying to get her and keep her. He's persistent. Ava at first thinks he has a girlfriend and once that is cleared up, she starts thinking its all about the sex to him. She is afraid of getting hurt so she pushes him away through most of the book. Ava was also annoying to me at times when it came to Jesse. She gave into him a little to easy and didn't try to stand up for herself or push him away hard enough. She needed a backbone. Ava also has this funny best friend Kate (I wish the author would write a book about her.) that she lives with and confines in. Kate is pro-Jesse which annoys Ava sometimes. Ava thinks Jesse owns a hotel and throughout the book he does everything to make her think it really is a hotel. Once she finds out what kind of business he really does own, she ends things for good with him and Jesse goes on a drinking binge that doesn't end well when Ava tries to talk to him.

Every girl or maybe just me always wants to find a guy like Jesse. He's protective, sexy, dreamy, rich, older, charming, arrogant, funny and did I say sexy. The author wrote him to where you can almost picture him. He is definitely a man you can dream about. Ava seems like your girl next door type. She has always been in long term relationships and just got out of one and wants to try the single thing until Jesse. 

I loved this book and have read it like 4 times already and will probably read again soon.
