Baiting The Maid Of Honor (Wedding Dare #2) by Tessa Bailey

Baiting The Maid Of Honor was a great, easy read. There wasn't anything spectacular about the book. It was different in the sense that there are 4 books in the series and they're all written by different authors. Other than that, it was just a normal book. The storyline was a little different but I had a feeling like I read the book before but with different characters.

Reed and Julie are complete opposite in every sense. Julie is rich, polish, uptight, spoiled, privileged and perfect in every way. Reed is dangerous, dark, moody, confusing, commanding, a Swat commander and delicious. They meet at a mutual friend's wedding. Julie is the maid of honor and has planned out the whole week leading up to the weeding for everyone. Reed is a last minute wedding party addition. They meet on a balcony. Julie step out for a breather and Reed was in the shadows watching her. They start a dangerous game of cat and mouse. Julie doesn't want Reed. She wants clean and tidy but only Reed turns her on like no other. The game ends when Reed gets Julie to admit she wants him. Reed wants Julie for sex but after he has her, he wants to keep her forever. They both are from the same city and realize that maybe they could make it work. Julie deals with some heavy family stuff and Reed didn't have a great childhood.

I loved that Julie made Reed work for it a little bit. She didn't just give into his charm. She challenged him. Their banter and Reed being a demanding asshole were also some of my favorite parts. I like that every book I have read where the guy had a bad childhood, his character is dark, dangerous and controlling. It's like there is a writing handbook that says when the guy is screwed up make him dangerous. I did love his dangerous side. Reed also had a secret romantic side that I don't even think he knew he had. He knew the way to a woman's heart and he didn't even have to try hard. I didn't love that they knew each other for a couple of days and were already thinking about the future. That was a little quick.

Wedding Dare Series

Fun new series by several different authors. I have read the first couple and they are great, light, easy read that's funny and charming. All four books in the series came out on June 9th, 2014.

She’s the one that got away. He’s the one she can’t forget. Photojournalist Christine Forsythe is ready to tackle her naughty little to-do list, and who better to tap for the job than a hot groomsman? But when she crashes into her best friend’s older brother, Christine realizes her list needs updating. And fast. Tyler Dresco took her virginity during the best night of her life, then bolted. Now that they’re trapped together at a destination wedding, she’s going to get her revenge. Tyler has never forgiven himself for how completely he lost control all those years ago. Being in Christine’s arms had felt right...until he realized what he’d taken from her in the hallway of a cheap motel. And oh, how she’s making him pay for it now. The insatiable heat between them has only grown stronger, but every time things heat up, Christine walks away. With every encounter, things go a little bit further until Christine’s caught in her own trap of seduction. And before their time’s up, Tyler’s not the only one wanting more.

He’ll own her from the very first touch. Julie Piper and Reed Lawson have nothing in common. She’s a people-pleasing sorority girl hiding behind her perfect mask. He’s a take-no-prisoners SWAT commander who isolates himself from the world. But when they’re forced together at their friends’ posh destination wedding, one thing is clear—Reed wants Julie more than he wants his next breath. Which is why he’s not about to stand by when she’s dared to seduce another man. Julie wants neat, tidy sex, so she could get back to what she does best—making everybody else happy. She never expected to slip into a dark bedroom and have her mind blown by rough, demanding hands, and a sinfully filthy mouth—neither of which belong to the best man. One night should have been all Reed needed to get the blond temptress out of his system, but when one taste is nowhere near enough, he’ll be forced confront the effects of his hellish past. One that may push Julie away forever...just when he realizes he can't live without her.
She has a plan. He’s about to change it. Regan Wakefield is a headhunter in both name and personality: driven, motivated, and unafraid to pursue what—and who—she wants. Naturally, she’s thrilled when her friend's wedding offers her an opportunity to score Logan McCade, the practically perfect best man. Unfortunately, groomsman Brock McNeil keeps getting in her way, riling her up in the most delicious of ways. But Brock’s smooth southern charm isn't part of the plan...so how exactly did they end up having searing-hot sex? Regan may pretend the erotic electricity sparking between them is merely a distraction, but Brock knows better. She refuses to see beyond the devil-may-care façade he presents to the world, while he sees straight through hers. Changing her mind—and getting under her skin—is a challenge he can’t resist. And when he wins, Brock will do whatever it takes to convince Regan that the best man for her is him.

How far can one favor go. Logan McCade arrives at his best friend’s wedding overworked and in desperate need of a vacation, only to discover his best man duties have been…expanded. He must coax Colton’s sister out of her shell, or risk her hiding in her room all week. Logan figures he can handle one introverted bridesmaid, but he’s not expecting how much he enjoys “handling” Sophie…or how much she enjoys being handled. Socializing has never been web designer Sophie Brooks’s strong suit, but she’s determined to shed her wallflower image and embrace the “New Sophie”—a feat made easier with the supremely sexy Logan McCade tempting her to explore all her forbidden fantasies. If she’s not careful, she just might fall for the best man. Sophie’s sweet, sexy, and delectably awkward demeanor brings much-needed calm to Logan’s hectic life. With the nuptials only days away, Logan is forced to face the possibility that his favor to a friend might have become something else entirely…and that he’s not willing to let Sophie go. Ever.

Staking His Claim (Line of Duty #5) by Tessa Bailey

Released February 3, 2014.

He wants her. All of her.

NYPD sniper Matt Donovan is in Hell. Instead of driving his best friend’s little sister home from college, he’s stuck with her roommate—a fresh-faced ray-of-sunshine with a body that makes grown men weep. There’s no way he’ll allow himself to taint the little vixen, no matter how hard she tries to tempt him, so he resigns himself to the longest—and hardest—drive of his life.

Matt’s obvious attraction suits grad student Lucy Mason just fine. She had no idea her brother’s best friend was so deliciously hot. Knowing he’d never have his wicked way with his buddy’s sister, she lies about her identity and seduces him. But Matt’s no fumbling college boy. His desires run deep—and dark—and he wants to teach Lucy what wicked really means.

Matt’s demanding appetites only make Lucy want more. But when her cover's blown, he’s furious—even as his hunger for her becomes insatiable. Matt can’t trust anyone, least of all himself. And he knows all too well that darkness always destroys the light…

Officer Off Limits (Line Of Duty #3) By Tessa Bailey

This is the third book in the series. I aboustely loved the characters in Asking For Trouble the fourth book in the series but in this book they sort of annoyed me. I didn't think they had a story that was worth reading. The seemed more like secondary characters than main characters.

Story which is a dumb name for a character. She seemed more like a Paige to me. Anyways, her boyfriend dumps her 2 weeks before her wedding. She decides to go visit her dad in New York, who recently had a heart attack and is in the hospital. Once there, she meets her dad's much younger partner. Daniel. Daniel hits on her immediately after seeing her not knowing who she is and she calls his bullshit. Later, when he goes to visit Story's dad, he learns who Story is. Her dad tells Daniel to stay away from his daughter. But then, tells Daniel to take his daughter home, show her around and some others things that contradicted what he told Daniel.

Of course, they feel attracted to each other and hang out. Within the first couple of chapters, Daniel has Story up against the wall and is kissing her. They're chemistry is hot and steamy. I could feel that they had something but it seemed like it was happening too fast. Daniel wants Story to stay in New York through the summer and Story wants to find herself after being in a long term relationship for so long.

They decide to spend some time apart which really is a very long long week. Story still wants Daniel. Daniel can't stop thinking about Story. They get back together and decide to tell Story's dad they're together. But before that can happen, Story's ex boyfriend shows up. He wants her back, thinks them breaking up was a mistake, he lied to her and on and on. Story learns that her dad is the one that made her ex boyfriend break up with her. He doesn't think he was good enough for his daughter. He wants someone that is going to take care of her. Story and Daniel find happily ever after, after some more drama and truths being revealed.

There is also a hostage situation, hot sex and humor. Story tells it like it is and has no filter once so ever. I liked some parts of the book, but Story's character just annoyed me. She wasn't believable. Daniel seems mysterious with some deep secrets but what bad boy cop doesn't have a couple of those. The plot of the story was the best part. If it was better written it would have been worth reading.

Asking For Trouble (Line of Duty #4) by Tessa Bailey

I read Asking For Trouble before Officer Off Limits even though it's suppose to be the other way around. There really isn't a need to read Officer Off Limits first, except the character in Officer Off Limits may an appearance in this book a couple of times. They're are friends with the main characters in this book.

I enjoyed the characters a lot. Their banter and bickering was fun and light. I loved the dirty talk. It was different and seemed way more dirtier than previous books I have read. The book is a quick read and alternates between characters. It seems like all the bickering is foreplay. The characters have some serious chemistry. I also like the little pet names they give each other. They're cute.

Brent is rude, rough, sexy and charming all in one. He was a crazy sense of humor and loves to get under Hayden's skin. He can be protective and knows how to take care of his loved ones. He works 2 jobs to support everyone in his family. Hayden is rich, beautiful and hates Brent throwing it in her face how much money she has. She seems cold hearted and uptight at the beginning of the book. Brent and Hayden do not get along at all. They fight and throw hurtful words at each other every time they're in a room together which seems to be a lot since their best friends are in love.

Brent and Hayden get together sort of under a dare. They both are trying to see who would called off things first and things end up getting steamy fast. They're first night together gets interrupted by Hayden's mom. But to get back at her mom, Hayden invites Brent to a dinner party for the next night. Hayden wants Brent to keep things a secret. They end up sleeping together. Afterwards it seems like Hayden and Brent can't stay away from each other. They run into each other and miss each other like crazy. Brent keeps things a secret for awhile but then to piss Hayden off, he lets it slip in front of their friends that they were together. He wants her and he knows she wants him. He doesn't understand why they can't be together.

Hayden has a lot going on at home. Her dad is going to lose his company unless Hayden marries some rich guy that will loan the money to saved it. Hayden thinks about not marry the guy because she realizes she wants Brent. Brent and her end up in an argument and she decides to marry the other guy. Brent finds out and stop the wedding. The company ends up being saved another way.
