Where I Belong (Alabama Summer #1) by J. Daniels

Where do I start with this book? I had so many problems with it, I can't possible write about them all. I think this was the first book that I can remember that I stop reading. I just couldn't read anymore. I don't care how it ends, I wasn't interested.

First of all, Mia was still a virgin at like 23 and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that but she had a problem with it. She is going to spend the summer with her best friend, Tessa in Alabama and doesn't want Tessa to think she is a loser and decides to rid herself of her virginity. She stops at a bar on her drive to Alabama and gives it up to the first guy that pays her some attention. She wasn't even in the bar but like 5 minutes before she leaves with him. He could have been a killer or a rapist but she didn't think of these things. They don't even ask each other for names. I don't understand why she would care what her best friend thinks about her still having her virginity. I think Mia caring what her friend thinks is stupid.

Ben is the lucky winner of her virginity and he has no problems taking it. He did all sorts of kinky crap to her and for her to be a virgin she should have been a little more apprehensive about the shit Ben was doing. Ben instantly falls in love with Mia. She has a hot body, so what isn't to fall in love with. Ben unbeknownst to Mia is Tessa's older brother and the guy that made her childhood hell. He was so mean to her while she was going up. Mia hasn't seen Ben in 9 years when she moved to Georgia. When Mia and Ben figure out who each other is, Mia is pissed and Ben is thrilled.

Mia tells Tessa all about Ben and the sex they had. Personally I wouldn't want to know about my brother's sex life, but Tessa on the other hand wants to know everything, even the size of his dick. Gross. Ben tries to get Mia to forgive him and does a bunch of childish things. I just couldn't deal with this crap. Ben is suppose to be like 26 years old and he acts like a horny little boy in heat. He gets jealous of his friends talking to Mia. Another thing, Ben is supposedly a cop and while I was reading I thought he was a teenager. He is just way too immature and he has a kid for crying out loud. The kid's mom is a  nightmare and I don't even know how I would describe her crazy ass.

Lastly, Mia's mom is sick, like super sick. She is suppose to be getting better but yet is still SICK. Why would Mia leave Georgia to go spend the summer in Alabama with people she hasn't seen in 9 years in beyond me. I don't care that her mom was in recovery or that her mom demanded she go, there is no way I would leave my mom until I was 100% sure she was better.

I don't think I will be reading anymore books in this series. It just isn't for me.

Slow Burn (Driven #5) by K. Bromberg

I absolutely loved Slow Burn. I loved Hattie and Becks together. Becks is a true gentleman in every way possible. He really cared about Hattie even though she made it difficult for him. I loved Hattie way more the Rylee. Rylee I thought was annoying and in the parts of this book I still thought she was annoying. I just can't stand Rylee.

Hattie was genuine. She didn't know what she wanted but what woman does. She cared about Becks a lot and was afraid to let him get close. She had a hard year and lost someone very close to her. It was understandable for her to push people away. She was trying to protect everyone including herself. I felt bad for Hattie to have cancer and have to deal with that. She had almost lost her mother to the same cancer twice when she was younger, had just lost her sister to it a year ago and was very much raw in a way and then she was having to deal with it herself. She carried herself well with everything that was going on.

Becks was my favorite character in the whole series. I was so glad he got his own book. He seems like a true southern gentleman. He knows how to treat a lady well and doesn't act all tough. I loved how he got under Hattie skin. He knew deep down she wanted him, he just had to prove it to her and boy did he. The sex in the book was off the charts off. There wasn't that much sex between the two but the sex that was there, was great. And I was a little jealous of Hattie. I loved the dirty talk and flirting.

I felt bad for Hattie's little niece. I know she wasn't a big part of this book, but she made an impression on me. She was so young and carefree. She shouldn't of had to deal with her mom's death and then have her only aunt go through the same thing. I feel sorry for any family that has to deal with cancer in real life but having to read about it hurt me more than I realized it would.

I loved Slow Burn and the ending. Hattie and Becks are together and happy. I hope they pop up in the next book which I am definitely excited about. Colton's little sister is finding love.

Slow Burn (Driven #5) by K. Bromberg

Teaser 1:
"Damn, City," he whispers to me between kisses. I can feel him beginning to harder slowly against my thigh and marvel at his recovery time but most definitely have no complaints with it.

Teaser 2:
"Damn you, Had. I'm trying to do the right thing here."

Teaser 3:

"Tastes like Heaven - smooth, addictive -but hell if it doesn't pack a punch." "Why do I get the feeling we're not talking about alcohol here?"

Teaser 4:
"Becks, it's important for you to know that I didn't hop from being with you to being with someone else. Nothing is going on between Dante and me." "Just like nothing is going on between you and me, right?" he asks, suggestion in his tone and the question hanging in the sexually charged air between us.

The Untouchables (Ruthless People #2) by J.J. McAvoy

I loved The Untouchables but I also knew I would. Liam and Melody are brutal. They fight each other and the world and I loved it. Nothing stands in their way. I love how Liam and Melody were apart of an arranged marriage but ended up falling in love. They seriously love each other and it shows in this book. They will do anything for each other. There are a lot of POVs in this book. It works for this book. Normally, it would be too much or too confusing but for a book like this there has to be multiple POVs to make the book make sense. A lot happens and it's better when there are multiple people telling the reader what is happening.

I thought Melody was getting a little soft at one point in the book but she proved to be the same mean bitch like always. She's a very tough woman and I have one serious woman crush on her. She shoots her own husband, fights him and shoots drug dealers while pregnant, helps her sister in laws and gets a little emotional about being pregnant and her supposedly dead mom.

I love how Melody and Liam fight each other. They argue and then have amazing make up sex. It's crazy but amaze at the same time. I can't put my finger on it but I love the so much. Liam is protective of Melody even though I think she is the strongest woman I have ever read a book about. I love how Olivia got her revenge against her rapist. I think it helped her come out of her shell and not be so closed off.

Towards the end of the book, Olivia started to annoy and piss me off so much. Melody made her strong again and she that for granite. I had liked Olivia in the first book. I liked that she was a bitch but was mostly quiet and did want she was told. In this book, she turned into a completely different person. I think since she killed her rapist she got some of her freedom back and she felt strong again, but she took it way too far. She turned on the people that made her better. It seemed like all she wanted was power and she will do whatever it takes to get that power.

I hated the way the book ended. I need the next book now. I hope Liam and Melody find their way back to each other and Olivia gets what is coming to her. I hate cliffhangers.

Stealing Rose (The Fowler Sisters #2) by Monica Murphy

Teaser 1:
“Thank you for scaring him away.” I absently rub at my arm, glancing down to see the imprint of the man’s fingers glaring red on my skin.
“He marked you.” He grabs hold of me, his large hand engulfing mine as he holds my arm out to inspect it. His jaw goes tight and he lifts his head, scanning the room with ruthless efficiency. “I should kick the shit out of him.”

Teaser 2:
“Then join me.”
“I can’t.”
Her expression turns solemn and she lifts her arms, smoothing back her hair. The movement lifts her breasts, showing off the dip in her waist, the sleekness of her belly. Jesus, her body will be the fucking death of me. “Are you gay or what?”

Teaser 3:
“Touch me like this. Kiss me like this,” Rose says breathlessly as she tosses her head back, her eyes sliding closed as she moans. I smile against her skin as I move to her other nipple, giving it the same treatment.
“You want it,” I tell her. Her skin is sweet and warm and she smells fucking amazing. I’m feeling her up in the middle of a bathroom and I don’t really give a damn. I have to have her.
