Scars and Songs by Christine Zolendz

Scars and Songs is just like the Fall From Grace and Saving Grace except it's in Shane's point of view. I like the overall book. I like getting into Shane's head and founding out what he was thinking. But, it was almost exactly like the previous 2 books so it was like I was reading the same thing all over again. When I read a book, I always wonder what the guy or other main character is doing at the same time as the character I am reading about and this book told me. However, this book can be read as a stand alone.

Scars and Songs made me fall in love with Shane a little more. In the previous 2 books, you could tell he had feelings for Grace but being able to read how he really felt about her and wanted her, it just makes everything he did make sense. I think this book was one of the best male point of view stories I have read in a long time.

I liked reading all my favorite parts through Shane's eyes. Scars and Songs was very enjoyable and added something to the whole Mad World Series.

Saving Grace by Christine Zolendz

Saving Grace was nice a perfect conclusion to Fall From Grace. Shane and Grace finally got together at the end and let their feeling be known after some misunderstandings on both their parts. They still argued and bickered but what 2 people who love each other doesn't do that. Shane in Saving Grace seemed like he grew up a little bit. He wasn't such an asshole or man whore. He acted more mature. Grace was a little annoying and whining. She should of just talked to Shane instead of running from him.

There really isn't much communication between Shane and Grace. I think if they actually talked more than they stared at each other, their problems would have been solved a lot sooner. They were either, starring at each other, fighting or kissing. Saving Grace was still suspenseful. But again what irritated me was how long it took Shane and Grace to get together. They finally put their feelings out there but things kept getting in their way. It took 300 pages for them to finally get together and then the book ends. The build up was done in Fall From Grace, I shouldn't of had to read the build up between them again.

Saving Grace picks up where Fall From Grace left off. Grace's body is still in the hospital and her soul is left wondering around. It's in a limbo state. Grace can see everything that is going on in the hospital. Grace eventually wakes up and learns that she has been in a medical induce coma for 4 weeks. Shane isn't by her side and no one is telling her where he is. She thinks he is dead. Grace gets discharged from the hospital and goes into a self loathing period for a couple of days where all she does is drink to feel numb and passes out. Lea yells at her countless times to wake up and start living her life. She wants her best friends back.

Some detectives question her about what happen to her at the cabin and she learns that Shane is in jail her supposedly attacking her. She makes up a story because what really happen at the cabin will get her sent to a crazy hospital. She tells them Shane didn't hurt her, he saved her. She has to repeat her story a dozen times to a dozen different people. Afterwards, Lea decides it will be a good idea to go out to the bar. Grace ends up leaving with Ethan one of Shane's friends. The next morning, Shane who just got release from jail catches her as she leaves Ethan's room. They argue over it. Shane acts jealous and mean towards Grace for about 2 minutes until Grace gets sick of his attitude and tells him what really happen. Shane makes it known he wants her and only her.

Grace keeps getting visits from fallen angels that want her soul and she looses a crazy amount of time after one in particular visits her, Gabriel. He tells her that she is his and is she doesn't come with him, he will hurt everyone she cares about. Grace and Shane go through a couple more problems and their friends make it difficult for them to actually be together. At the end, Shane finally tells Grace who he really is. He the boy that took her first innocent kiss over 2000 thousand years ago and sent them to the hell their soul lives in. Gabriel tries to kill them but they survive and sends he away. Grace and Shane get their happy ever after. They're both human now and get to live their last life together.

Overall I really loved the characters, the dialogue and chemistry between Shane and Grace. I also loved how the Fall From Grace series is a little different than some books. I had a lot of expectations for Saving Grace and it didn't really live up to any of them. It was a repetitive storyline almost like Fall From Grace's storyline.

Fall From Grace by Christine Zolendz

Fall From Grace grabs you from the first page and gets better with every page. It has awesome one liners and a kick ass, strong female lead. It's light hearted and un-put-downable or it was in my case. It's all things, witty, funny, delightful, sweet and heart melting. The author knew what she was doing. The story seemed like any other love story but half way through there is a twist and it's really a paranormal romance. It is hinted throughout the book that something was different about Grace. I hated the cliffhanger at the end the most.

It was very irritating that everyone thought Grace was the most beautiful girl ever. Every guy n the book was saying Grace, you are so beautiful in so many words. Tucker, a guy she sorts of dates or giving a chance to, told her she was beautiful or called her beautiful in every sentence he spoke to her. Grace was beautiful, I got that from the first few hundred times some guy told her. I didn't need to be reminded constantly.

The beginning of Fall From Grace starts off with Grace having to deal with the death of her brother. She decides to go back home to her best friend Lea to start living her life again. On her first night back, Lea drags her out to a bar to hear a band play. That's where she meets Shane, who is the lead singer of the band Mad World. He's tall, tattooed and a rock god. Grace instantly feels drawn to him despite his man whoring ways, his panty dropping smile, I can get any girl I want personality and no girl ever tells him no attitude. There are girls that are constantly throwing themselves at Shane and Grace uses that to her advantage to show him she isn't fazed by him.

Grace tells Shane she doesn't want to be another notch on his bedpost so he should just treat her like one of the guys because they're never gonna to happen. Lea also tells Shane, Grace isn't interested in him. He isn't her type, to not go there with Grace. However, Lea knows Grace's secret. She has been searching for someone her whole life. She doesn't need Shane as a distraction.

Grace gets attacked and Shane saves her. To show her gratitude, she decides to join the band. One of the previous members got hurt and can't perform anymore, Grace wants to help Shane. Shane and Grace start hanging out that mostly consist of them running a crazy amount of miles in Central Park, flirting or performing on stage for the band. Though, every time it ends with one of them getting mad at the other person. Shane also recites romantic quotes to Grace a lot. Grace gets attacked again. She almost dies in a fire, but Shane saves her again. To get away from everything that is happening in the city, everyone decides to take a trip out of town. Before they leave, Grace meets Blake, Tucker's cousin. She thinks he's the one she has been searching for. Shane and Grace get stuck in a snow storm on the way to the cabin and he finally tells her how he feels. They get into a huge argument about it. Grace gets attacked by Blake once they do finally make it to Tucker's house. The book ends with Grace lying in a hospital bed.

What bothered me the most about the book was that Grace clearly had feeling for Shane. She would flirt with him and get jealous of other girls that would hang all over him. She wouldn't tell him how she felt. Shane clearly had feelings for Grace. He would get mad at guys who hit on her, he was protective of her, was always watching her and constantly wanted to be around her but he too wouldn't tell Grace how he felt. He would just tell her stuff that made it seem like all he wanted from her was sex. It annoys me when the author won't get the couple together sooner and you read the whole book and it's not until the last chapter until they tell each other their feelings. I like the build up, the flirting and bickering with the characters but 400 pages of build up is over kill. You knew something was gonna happen between Grace and Shane but it took too long for it to happen. In this book it never happen. Shane lets his feeling be known and Grace shuts him down.

On to book 2 Saving Grace...

I Plan On Reading....

Next I plan on reading the Fall From Grace series by Christine Zolendz. It's 2 books in Grace's point of view and 1 book from Shane's eyes. It's a paranormal romance story.
