Ripped (Real #5) by Katy Evans

Ripped is a great read to me. It's an amazing love story and seems very real. It's about first love, first heartbreak and second chances. Someone's first love always screws a person up. No person is ever the same after they experienced their first heartbreak. It changes people. Pandora had her first heartbreak when she was a teenager and it screwed her up bad. In the first couple of books in the series, Pandora was always bitter and mean. After reading Ripped and getting into Pandora's head, I see why she was so bitter. She was just hurting and taking it out on everyone else around her. Ripped is told in both Kenna's and Pandora's POV.

Pandora wants what her friends have. She wants love, the all consuming type but she also hates love because of her past. She also seems to hate men in general. Her first boyfriend, Kenna which was also her first love, said he loved her and then left her. He lied to her and it ended up hurting her. She never got over it. Years later and his name still gives her butterflies. She hates him or tries to but can't. She wants him too bad. He proved her right about every guy in the world. She's scared to trust him again too.

Kenna wants Pandora. He's always wanted her. He left her to protect her and always was gonna go back for her when he proved her mom that he was good enough for her. Kenna didn't want to leave Pandora like she thought he did. Her mom was holding something huge over his head and he left to keep her safe and save his father. I loved that after so many years apart and Kenna still wants Pandora more than he wants to breathe. Kenna and Pandora have the all consuming love and Pandora never even knew it.

I loved that Pandora couldn't say "I Love You". Normally, it's the guys that have a hard time with saying it but in this case it was her. I think she was afraid she would lose herself if she said it. It was like giving herself full to another person and trusting them to care about her and not hurt her. She had only ever said "I love you" to her dad and he ended up betraying her, so she was scared.

I was glad Pandora found happiness. She was also so sad and hurt and at the end was happy. She was smiling and laughing which is so unlike her. She changed and I loved it. She learned to trust Kenna again which is hard to do when the trust has been broken. She forgave her and got her happy ending.
Ripped kind of ended with a cliffhanger of a sorts. Their story is far from being over. I want to know what happens next and if they find their baby.

Slammed by Skyla Madi

I was so glad when I found out Jackson and Selena were getting their own story. I loved Jackson and Selena in the Consumed series. I think I was more excited for this book then I was the whole Consumed series. There was always little snippets of something big going on between Jackson and Selena in the other books but it never really said what was happening. I was glad I got to finally found out what was happening. Slammed is in Jackson's and Selena's POV. I didn't like the cliffhanger one bit. It sucks when books end with some many questions left unanswered.

I always wondered what the hell was going on with them. They seemed to care for each other but hate each other at the same time. Jackson played some serious mind games with Selena. You could tell he cared for her and wanted her but kept pushing her away. It was confusing and exhausting. Selena wanted Jackson so bad, you could tell it physically hurt her to stay away from him.

Selena seemed like a mean bitch in the Consumed series but in Slammed she showed a different side of her. She is caring and soft. She has actual feelings. It was a nice changed from the Selena I had read about before. Jackson has a dark past that screw him up and he thinks he's can't love someone. He doesn't trust love. He loved or thought he loved someone in his past and they hurt him badly. He wants to let Selena in but is scared.

I didn't like Amelia and I didn't see a point to her being in the story except to cause problems for Jackson. Jackson was finally letting go of his past and moving on and she had to mess things up for him. She is a mean little thing and I hope Selena gives her a run for her money in the next book. If there is a next book. I was glad Seth and Olivia made appearances in this book too. I like knowing they're still around and there for their friends.

You Were Mine (Rosemary Beach #9) by Abbi Glines

I was super excited to read You Were Mine. I was scared to read it though. I didn't know how I was going to read about Bethy without Jace being the one she ended up with. I did love the story the way it turned out. You Were Mine goes back and forward between what happen 8 years ago and present day. It tells the story of how Bethy and Tripp fell in love so many years ago. It's also in Bethy's and Tripp's POV. Many past characters make appearance in the book too, which is always great. I love reading what the other characters are up too.

Bethy is way different than the girl I first read about in Fallen Too Far. She seemed like a party girl that was always looking for a good time. Now, I know why she was like that. Tripp screwed her up way before we actually met her. In You Were Mine, she is depressed and trying to find a way to live again. Jace's death had an impact on her. His death had an impact on me. I loved Jace's character and was heartbroken when he died. I truly believed Bethy loved Jace and Tripp in two completely different ways. They meant a lot to her. Bethy sort of blames herself for Jace's death. He tried to save her and ended up dying. Bethy is very innocent and sweet. She cares deeply about her friends. I loved her character now more than I did before. You Were Mine changed my opinion on her.

Tripp is a completely different kind of guy in Rosemary. He spent his summers there and knows all the guys, but he writes his own story and paved his own path. Tripp isn't like Rush, Grant, Wood or Jace. He didn't want the life his dad choose for him and decided to do something about it. He left town after spending his last summer falling in love with Bethy. Tripp has loved Bethy since he was 18 years old. He made mistakes when it came to her and he wished he never did. Tripp was Bethy's first everything. In You Were Mine I could actually feel how Tripp was feeling about Bethy. He made it known every chance he got.

I was sad that Jace die and Bethy was heartbroken. I think there should of been another way for Tripp and Bethy to be together and Jace to be alive too. However, I think if Jace was still alive Bethy and Tripp would not have been giving a second chance at being together. Neither one of them would have wanted to hurt Jace. They would have left their relationship in the past and secret. Jace's death is what brought them back together.

You Were Mine was story compared to the other stories but it did have a happy ending. Tripp finally got his Bethy back and that's all the really matters. I am sad that it doesn't look like Tripp and Bethy will be getting a second book. I honestly don't know what else could happen to these two. They got their happy ending and don't have any other obstacles to over come. I can't wait for April for Mase's book. It looks like it's going to be interesting.
