Game Changer (Hell's Saints Motorcycle Club #1) by Paula Marinaro

Game Changer was not a book for me. I don't see how anyone could like this book at all. It was horrible. I thought since it was going to be about a motorcycle club, I would give it a chance. I shouldn't of. It wasn't like any motorcycle club books I ever read before.

What the heck did I just read? That was my reaction after the first couple of chapters. But for some unknown reason I kept reading. Then after a couple of more chapters, I was asking myself "Why am I still reading this horrible book?" This book is like watching a horrible train accident happen. It's horrible and you should look away, but you never do. That's how I felt. It was bad but I kept reading it. I just wanted to get the book over with as soon as possible with all my brain cells still attached.

I don't even know to begin with why I didn't like this book. It could be the that the main girl Raine's eyes kept changing colors. Her eyes were blue, then brown, then blue again. The author couldn't even remember the color. It could also to the constant repetitiveness that annoyed me. For example, starting every sentence for four paragraphs with 'I get' is very annoying. I get that the author is trying to make a point but it seemed like the author was a 12 year old instead. This sentence stuff happen a lot throughout the book. Every time a character was telling someone off or talking about something they would use the same set of words over and over again. ANNOYING.

Also there was very long inner monologues that lasted chapters. It was like I was reading someone diary instead of a book. I wasn't going through the day to day stuff with the characters, they were telling me what happen after it happen. For example, after Raine and her sister Claire go through a terrible accident, Raine tells the reader what has happen in a very long, very drawn out monologue instead of me experiencing it with her. I wanted to see more dialogue between the characters. I don't see how Raine and Deigo were suppose to be in love when I think throughout the whole book, they maybe talked to each other 3 times.

I thought there was too much back story. Sometime it can be a good thing but in this case it was bad. The author would tell the back story over and over again, every chance she got. And it was like this with every character. Every character in the book had something horrible happen to them and made them the way they were. It didn't work. There was too much going on in everyone's lives. Too much information.

The different POVs were too much. I can understand having the main couple Raine and Diego's POVs but everyone else was too much. It was too many people and really unnecessary.

The grammar, spelling and the run on sentences drove me crazy. The author is in need of a good editor. At times, I felt I was reading a story my 7 year old niece wrote instead of a published author. The plot could have been really good starting point for a great book but this author just didn't know what the heck she was doing.
