Three Broken Promises (Drew & Fable #3) by Monica Murphy

Out December 31, 2013

Synopsis:
Commitment. That’s what I really want from Colin. Ever since my brother, Danny, died in Iraq, Colin’s done so much to help me, including giving me a job at his popular restaurant so I can leave my crappy waitressing job at the strip joint. But lying in bed with him every night to comfort him from his horrible nightmares isn’t enough anymore. I know he feels guilty about Danny’s death, about not going to Iraq, but I can’t keep living this double life.

I love him desperately, but he’s got so many demons, and if he can’t open up to me now, then he’ll never be the real partner I need him to be. I gave him a month, and now I’m out of here. If he truly loves me like he says, he knows where to find me.

Excerpt:
Turning, I head straight for the door, praying he'll chase after me, grab me, kiss me senseless.

At the very least, yell at me to stop, beg me to listen to his explanations. I want that glimpse into his soul, his heart. The wall he's built around it is made of steel, absolutely impenetrable, but I want to be the only one who can bust it down.

Yet he does nothing. Absolutely nothing. Just lets me go, as usual, without saying a word.

The Sweetest Game (The Perfect Game #3) by J. Sterling

Synopsis:
This is the third (and final) installment in Jack & Cassie's story!
“It’s one hell of a sledgehammer to the chest when your baseball career comes to an end. It’s like you finally realize that baseball never loved you back. All the sleepless nights, the hours spent at the gym trying to stay fit, the conditioning, the training, the mental preparation, the holiday’s missed, the birthday’s passed, the memories you didn’t get to make with your family…all for what? It’s not like baseball lost any sleep over you. She didn’t stay awake for nights on end trying to figure out how to make you a better player. She didn’t care. Baseball’s a business. A sport. A game. And as much as my entire life has been wrapped up in it, it’s time to let it go.”

Blurb:
My wife, Cassie, lay curled up next to me, her ass pressed tightly up against my groin. My wife. Someone actually loved me enough to not only put up with my shit, but to agree to put up with it for the rest of her life. She was probably insane on some level, but I’d take it. Whatever kept this woman by my side was fine by me. I wasn’t sure what it was about being married, but the pieces that used to spin out of control inside me actually felt settled now. Knowing that Cassie had vowed to be mine forever filled me with a sense of comfort I’d never known I was missing. In that moment, I felt like I could do anything. I could put on a cape, sprout some wings, and save the whole fucking world if I wanted to. And the best part was, the girl by my side wasn’t going anywhere. She’d sew a J on that cape and watch me fly if I asked her to. How did I just revert to a twelve-year-old with superhero fantasies? Fucking loser.I reached my arm around Cassie’s bare waist, my fingers exploring the side of her body I couldn’t see. She moaned and my dick throbbed to life. “Good morning, wife,” I whispered against her face, before kissing the lobe of her ear and sucking it into my mouth.
Cassie moaned again before turning to face me, her gorgeous green eyes beaming. “Good morning, husband.” Husband. Fuck yeah, I’m your husband. I think that means I’m legally allowed to kill anyone who fucks with her, right? Right. Leaning down, I pulled her lower lip between my teeth and nibbled playfully. Without warning, I pushed my tongue into her open mouth, moving it in sync with hers. I fucking ached to be inside her. Literally. Fucking. Ached.“I need you,” I breathed out between kisses. Her hands reached for my lower back, her fingers pulling at my skin to move me into position on top of her. I did as she silently asked, and she pushed her knees apart in welcome. “I guess that’s a yes?” I joked, sliding inside her before she changed her mind.

Truce: The Historic Neighbor From Hell (Neighbor From Hell #4) by R.L. Mathewson

This book is definitely a must read. I love all the Neighbor From Hell Series but I think this one is my favorite. The character are still funny like all the other books in the series. This book took place way back in the day in the 1800s. It's about how the Bradfords become the Bradfords. I loved this book.

It starts out with Jason making his wife a gift for their 5th wedding anniversary and Jason's dad deciding to tell the story of how they became who they are today. He tells the story of how their great great great great, etc. grandfather Robert met his wife Elizabeth and married her after a couple of weeks and moved to America.

Robert and Elizabeth were neighbors and enemies growing up. Robert hated her and Elizabeth couldn't stand him. They always were playing pranks on each other and driving each other insane. Elizabeth's parents drag her to a ball  one night so she can find her a husband. Elizabeth has no use for a husband. She want to stay single and have control over her own life. To escape the ball, Elizabeth goes to the orangery. While there, she meets a guy. They talk and hang out but don't know who the other person is. The end up having sex and going back to the ball that where they are introduced to each other and the Bradford possessiveness that I loved comes out to play.

Robert is the guy from the orangery. Their banter and playfulness starts right back up where it had left off. Elizabeth's parents want her to marry Robert's brother James but Robert isn't allowing that. Robert is crazy about Elizabeth and accidentally gets pregnant. Robert marries her against her will. After the wedding, they think she miscarriages and their families try to make them get an annulment.

Robert and Elizabeth decide to stay together and move to America. They realize they both love each other in their own way.

They're isn't that many sex moments but it still has the funny parts. I love this series. I never laughed so hard or swoon so much in one book before. I love the Bradford's craziness with the food and women.

Beck (Corps Security #3) by Harper Sloan

Out December 23, 2013

Synopsis:
DEE
I’ve always been good at wearing masks. Not letting anyone see the real me. I’m content being the happy-go-lucky best friend. The strong willed boss. The independent woman who doesn’t need a man. But the truth is I’m just as broken as the rest of you. I’m terrified that all it will take is one person to make all my carefully constructed walls crumble into fine dust. So I guard my heart with everything I have. Determined to never let anyone get close enough to hurt me again. All is perfect until HE walks into my life. No… he doesn’t just walk. He struts his good-looking, sex-oozing self right into my space and demands that I see HIM. Making me want what I know I can’t have. So I did the only thing I know how to do. I run. But he just won’t let me go.

BECK
The second I see her, I know she will be mine. I see past the gorgeous smiles and heart-stopping laughter. I see HER. She doesn’t want me to know her secrets or the past that haunts her, but I make it my mission to find out. To make her mine. She can run all she wants, but it will never be far enough to stop me from coming after her.  She’s it for me and she knows it. She’s just too scared to admit it.

Excerpt:
"If you don't stop treating me like a damn child, I'm going to lose it. I mean it, Beck. I want to go home. I want to sleep iin my own bed." He laughs, actually laughs in my face before turning back to the stove and flipping the pancakes he's working on.

Oh, the infuriating man. And daamn him for making pancakes worthy of me kissing his feet.

It's been two weeks. Two damn weeks since I've been released from the hospital, and he hasn't left my side once. He's becoming Betty freaking Crocker and Suzie Homemaker all rolled into one, too good looking for his own good man. He cooks my meals, does my laundry, and I bet if I asked, he's wipe my ass for me.

Don't get me wrong. I'm thankful for the assistance, but I haven't left the house once since we've been back. The first week, I don't think I could've left if I'd wanted to. My ribs screamed in pain whenever I moved, and my face would've given small children nightmares. I still look like I fought a semi and lost, but at least the bruises aren't as ugly and vibrant as before and the swelling has gone down enough that I look somewhat normal.

Now, I just want out. I want to got to my own house, sleep in my own bed and put some space between us. Oh, who am I kidding? The main reason I want out is because he's making me feel things that scare the shit out of me... making me believe that whatever I've been avoiding this whole time is possible.

He's making me want everything he's laying down at my feet. He's making me crave everything that I've been running from.

And he's got me so turned on that all he would need to do is say 'come', and I'm pretty sure my body would detonate like a perfectly crafted bomb.

Remy by Katy Evans

There really isn't much to talk about with this book. It is almost exactly the same as the previous 2 books, it is just a different character's point of view of what happen.

I did however, really like this book. This book is Real and Mine together in Remy's point of view. It goes back and forth between the present and past. When I was reading Real and Mine, I kept wondering what Remy was thinking and wondering how he was feeling. It was nice to finally find that out. I got to understand him a little more and it made me fall in love with him more. I thought he was a little mysterious in Real and Mine but this book made him just sexy.

This book can be read as a stand alone. It has all the same stuff as Real and Mine, it is just from a different point of view. I think I liked this book more than the books from Brooke's point of view. The only thing different was the present parts where Remy is talking about his wedding day/night.

Misbehaving (Sea Breeze, #6) by Abbi Glines

Synopsis:
Jason is sick of living in his rock star brother’s shadow. So when he ships off to Sea Breeze, Alabama, he’s looking for a much deserved escape and a chance to blow off some envious steam. Falling for the local bad girl was definitely not the plan. But as the new duo enjoys some naughty fun in the Alabama sun, Jason learns that even though Jax is the musician in the family, he’s not the only brother who can rock someone’s world.

Teaser:
“Go! Go! Go!” She demanded. She didn’t even look my way. Her eyes were focused on something outside. I turned my attention to the side of the road where she was intensely watching. There was nothing… then a guy came bursting out of the woods with an angry snarl on his face and I understood. No wonder she was terrified. The guy was huge and looked ready to murder someone.
I shifted gears and sped off before he could get any closer.
“OhmyGod, thank you. That was so close.” She said with a sigh of relief and rested her head on the back of the leather seat.
“Should I take you to the police station?” I asked glancing over at her. Had he attacked her before she’d gotten free?
“Definitely not. They’ll probably be looking for me in about ten minutes. I need you to take me to my momma’s. She’ll cover for me. Besides that’s where my truck is.”
They’d be looking for her? Her mom would cover for her? What?
“It ain’t like he’s got any proof. The only thing I dropped was the hockey mask and it was a cheapo I bought at the Goodwill a couple of Halloweens ago. Not something he can trace back to me.”
I slowed the Porsche down as her words started sinking in. I hadn’t just saved a girl from being attacked. If I understood this babbling correctly I had just become the getaway car.
“Why’re you slowing down? I need to get to my momma’s like now. She’s just two miles from here. You go up to county road thirty-four and turn right, then you take it about three fourths mile to Orange Street and take a left. She’s the third house on the right.”
Shaking my head I pulled over to the side of the road. “I’m not going any further until you tell me exactly what it is I’m helping you escape from?” I glanced down at the baseball bat tucked between her legs then up at her face. Even in the darkness I could tell she was one of those ridiculously gorgeous southern blonds. It was like they had some special ingredient to raise them like that down here.
She let out a frustrated sigh and blinked rapidly causing tears to fill her eyes. She was good. Real good. Those pretty tears were almost believable.
“It’s a really long story. By the time I explain everything I'll have been caught and I'll be spending the night in jail. Please, please, please just take me to my momma’s. We’re so close.” She pleaded. Yeah, she was a major looker. Too bad she was also bad news.
“Tell me one thing, why do you have a baseball bat?” I needed something. If she’d knocked someone unconscious back there then I couldn’t help her getaway. They could be injured or dead.
She ran her hand through her hair and grumbled. “Okay, okay fine. But understand that he deserved it.”
Shit. She had knocked someone out.
“I smashed all the windows in my ex's truck.”
“You did what?” I couldn’t have heard her correctly. That did not happen in real life. Country songs, yes. Real life, no way.
“He's a cheatin' bastard. He deserved it. He hurt me so I hurt him. Now, please believe me and get me out of here.”
I laughed. I couldn’t help it. This was the funniest damn thing I’d ever heard.
“Why're you laughing?” she asked
I shook my head and pulled back onto the road. “Because that’s not what I was expecting to hear.”
“What did you expect me to say? I’m carrying a bat.”
Glancing over at her I grinned, “I thought you’d taken someone out with the bat.”
Her eyes went wide and then she laughed. “I wouldn’t have knocked someone out with a bat! That’s crazy.”
